Visiting The Strip in Vegas

Sunday afternoon we headed over to our youngest sons house to tell them good buye as we planned on leaving the next morning. Visited for a while then we headed back to The Strip ‘cause ever since Treasure Island decided to call themselves TI and become a more adult oriented venue – back when we were still living here - I’ve wanted to see the new Siren show. So off we went last night.
Well do not waste your time if you haven’t seen it. We valet parked at the TI and walked through the busy lobby and casino – yes busy. Then through the crowds lining up to watch the show. We got a pretty good place to stand and watch. The scantly clad sirens came out first (of course I took pictures - some are a little blurry cause of the zoom needed)

and started screeching (singing?) Could not understand a word and not because it wasn’t loud enough. Then the pirate ship sailed up – that was neat. Then the pirates started to take off their clothes??????

And that had what to do with the show???? Finally there were a lot of fireworks and explosions and fire

Some how the pirates ended up on the sirens ship and they were dancing and singing.

Oh well. Guess I’m just too old for a T & A show. I liked the old pirate show. The best part of the show were the fireworks at the end.
After the show we walked across the street to the Venetian. What a pretty place. From there we watched the Volcano at the Mirage, across the street, erupt.


Amazing – a pirate fight and a volcano all within a couple of minutes. Then we watched the gondoliers paddling around in the canals of the Venetian. Singing their romantic songs to their passengers.
Looked like it would be fun.
Just walked around admiring the all the shops and their different goods for sale. One place has a lot of “objects de arte” made out of carved wood. And they look so real as you can see by this carved wood golf bad. It looks like leather.

Then the pastry shops – yum – everything looks so good.
Only bought croissants though. In the main square of the Venetian –
Saint Marks Square there are a bunch of restaurants and almost always entertainment of some kind. One thing I really like there are the decorative lights –would like to try making some.
From the Venetian we wandered into the Palazzo and checked out the autumn decorations (would you believe they are fake trees and flowers) – shame on them.
But they were pretty. Also checked out the windows of the very expensive shops and came across this window – Mr Potato Head?????
Okay – Vegas is Vegas.
By then my toe was very angry with me so we headed back to the car and just drove down the Strip. Some of the buildings are so pretty at night.

One weird thing we noticed while on the Strip the temp gauge in Willie registered 95 by the time we were a couple of blocks off The Strip the temp was down to 88. The lights, the people and the traffic sure make a difference.
