Ah life in the country. Yesterday we didn’t have water for a good part of the day. No sooner had we got it back then a water company pulled up and we got instructions on NOT TO USE THE WATER – well not really – we can use it but have to boil it until Monday. Glad we have lots of bottled water on hand.
Its been raining most of the week and in the low 50s during the day, tonight its supposed to get down to 35! And today we have “drizzles” which means it is still wet out. And cloudy so the Internet is off and on – mostly off. The trees were really pretty the beginning of the week and since then we’ve been waiting for a sunny day to go to the park. At the rate it is going before the sun comes out the leaves will be gone.
But I must go back in time to Sunday. Don’t know if I mentioned it or not but we had company for dinner Sunday. Bill cooked. First he made wonderful spaghetti sauce (took all morning) then he breaded and fried Melanesia meat. Then put prosciutto, cheese and sauce on top of the meat. Then it goes in the oven for the cheese to melt. Well…..he put them on cookie sheets – but – one cookie sheet had one side that didn’t have a lip on it and the sauce ran off into the bottom of the oven. We were all standing around talking when suddenly the kitchen was filled with smoke. Opened the oven and FIRE.

this is not real , just a clip artWow – as we watched it got bigger flashing out of the oven and up over the front of the range. By now the kitchen was filling with black smoke. We turned on the fans and opened all the doors. Bill got the fire out without any real damage – just a mess. Changed the meat to another pan and finished cooking it. Smoke cleared out pretty quick and we ate as scheduled. Really good. So Monday I cleaned the oven – not a big deal as it is self cleaning and needed it any way. Think I’ll buy another cookie sheet with all four sides with a lip.
Had the septic tank pumped yesterday, have decided to do it every six months, whether it needs it or not. Don’t like cleaning up that mess when it stops up.

Other than that – I’m working on the 2nd side of my window. Just have to solder it and clean it and patina it and polish it and it will be done. Also have started to work on this years section of the web page. For this years trip to Mexico. Not much to put on it yet.
